June’s Best Bites – My Favorite Meals at Dayton Restaurants

June was one tasty month for me in Dayton. Here’s what I loved most.

Quick Dinner at Koji Burger

It was my first visit to Koji Burger and I loved it. It’s always nice to find another speedier option downtown for quick dinners before shows and things.

We ordered the broccoli falafel – mine without a bun (it has dairy) or mayo. The cucumber, radish, and herb salad topper was amazing and really all it needed. We also both ordered the crispy spuds.

I also ordered the cauliflower salad and it was cold, crunchy, and delicious. It could be a meal in itself honestly.

First Visit to La Embajada

I had always heard such great things about La Embajada, so one day we decided to check it out.

Everything was wonderful here and I can’t wait to go back. They had so many veg-friendly items that I could revisit and get all new things this time.

La Paloma at El Rancho Grande

I’ve ordered Palomas at Mexican restaurants around town for a long time but this is the first time it showed up in a gorgeous little clay pot.

Iced Coffee & More at B-Side Coffee Bar / Alematic

My sister and I met up on her side of town at B-Side Coffee Bar (which is inside of Alematic) in Huber Heights. I ordered a brown sugar iced latte and she ordered a strawberry cloud lemonade.

The space has changed since or last visit – you order on the Alematic side whether you’re there for beer, breakfast, lunch, or coffee, but you can still sit on either side of the business.

We also ordered breakfast/brunch/lunch – I got the veggie breakfast bowl and added jalapeño, my sister ordered a burger (she had to ask for a single) with chips.

Old Scratch’s New Wines

I heard about Old Scratch debuting four new, custom wines a while before they launched and I was initially curious about it. Sometimes house wines aren’t my first choice, but I trusted that they would source from the best.

It turns out I had nothing to worry about – all four wines are great, and I’ll be happily ordering them each time from now on.
