La Embajada serves Argentinean flavors in Dayton, including several vegan and vegetarian options!
The Food
I had been seeing posts for a while about this place, especially their vegan offerings. I was pretty excited to go and try it for myself.

We started with an empanada each. I got the vegan spinach one and a side of chimichurri sauce and wow, was it amazing! My boyfriend got the soy beef one and loved it. (You can actually buy their empanadas frozen to take home!)
I ordered the Gaucho Harvest Medley: Cauliflower steak with brussel sprouts, onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms.

It came with a salad, and it was delicious!

I had malbec (you know, when in Argentina…) but next time I’m trying the sangria.
The Place
La Embajada is one of those places sort of hiding in plain sight because it’s in a strip mall. They have a patio in the front that was really cute and plenty of seating inside, too.

The decor is modern with lots of cultural touches here and there. And I loved seeing the owner’s personality shine through in some of the details – like a poster of llamas in the bathroom saying silly, flirty things. It’s bonkers in the cutest way possible.
The Experience

Immediately when we walked in, the owner talked us through the menu, the restaurant, and showed off her vibrant energy in everything she said. Keep in mind, this was not organized ahead of time – I didn’t reach out first, they didn’t reach out to me, I just was curious and wanted to go there and she had no idea who I was, just that I hadn’t been there before. It’s a very warm, very welcoming restaurant.
The Details

Despite its location, this isn’t a quick bite to eat (unless you’re just looking for empanadas to go or something). It’s a real, full-service, sit down restaurant that just happens to be located in a strip mall.
La Embajada means “The Embassy.”
They offer brunch on Saturdays and Sundays until 2:30 p.m.
Vegans and vegetarians can come here and have actual choices to make. And, you can have an entire meal. The Empanada Chocotella might be a vegan dessert – I’ll have to double check!
Reservations are accepted but we were able to walk in.
They book parties and you can order catering from La Embajada.
