This month was all about welcoming spring by getting out and enjoying Dayton while the weather was warm and the sun was shining.
Special Tour of the National Museum of the US Air Force

Having the opportunity to take a special tour of the Air Force Museum was incredible. I had the best time climbing into planes and trying to imagine what it felt like to be crammed in there with a team on a mission, fighting fascism on the front lines.

I’m also becoming the Wright Brothers nerd I have always been destined to be, so it was great seeing some of their legacy represented there as well.
North Arcade Opening Celebration

I wish I had screenshots of all the people who commented on my posts 10+ years ago saying that the Dayton Arcade would never reopen.
All pettiness aside, it was so great to walk around the North Arcade, shopping and exploring the new shops. Read all about the North Arcade, including what’s open now and what’s on the way here.
Wine Stop and Shop at Joui Wine

I had a great time stopping in Joui for a glass of wine and picking up a few bottles for my collection. This place is always such a perfect cap to a wonderful evening downtown.
Patio Sips at Jayne’s on Main
Speaking of wine, I had a great time trying Jayne’s on Main for the first time. Their patio was open on a warm but windy day and we took advantage of the unseasonable warmth to sit and enjoy a glass of wine and watch the traffic go by.

That cutie, upcycled purse is from handyjan, a local maker who you’ll often find at Handmade Holiday at Yellow Cab Tavern.
No Kings Rally and March

I was expecting a slightly smaller turnout at this No Kings rally at Courthouse Square – it was colder than the others have been, plus I noticed that social media was suppressing posts about it this time. But I couldn’t have been more wrong – it was bigger than the last one, which was bigger than the first one. I was so surprised and so happy to see that.

The march was a lot longer this time and it was neat to see so many people watching from windows and balconies, recording or taking pictures and waving at us. It was such a neat experience and just like the others, it left me with a sense of hope.

Plus, I loved that it always seems to give local businesses a boost. Barrel House in particular got a big crowd, but we saw people with signs at several other places around town afterward, too.
See what I got up to in February.
