Out and About Dayton in April

The way I had to pare this list dowwwwn this time! What an amazing April full of great memories all over Dayton.

Bob Dylan Concert at the Schuster Center

This was my fourth time seeing Bob Dylan (Millett Hall, Hara Arena, Riverbend before this show!) and it was my favorite yet. You don’t always get to see a legendary star like Bob Dylan at a venue really optimized for sound quality and it made so much difference in how it felt. I’ve been a big fan since 7th grade and I can’t believe how lucky I am to be able to see Dylan perform live so many times.

This was also my first show without being able to use my phone, so no photos, unfortunately. I took this one above after the concert.

Drag Show (starring Darlene Mitchell!) at MJs

I am a huge fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race and this past season (18) has been my favorite so far. I loved just about everyone this season, but my favorite is Darlene Mitchell. I was SO excited that she stopped in Dayton for an amazing show at MJs.

And I don’t know if I knew before how affordable drinks are at MJs – it’s like 2000s pricing! I can’t wait to go back to see another favorite from this season, Jane Don’t, soon.

My First Silent Disco

I was so excited to be invited to try Dayton Silent Disco for the first time. It was at The Brightside and it was such a great experience. Before this, my only exposure to silent disco was through Rinse Cycle – they did a few live DJ rides with the headphones, which was a fantastic way to make a workout so much fun. Wine on Felicity’s Patio

When I picture sipping wine on a patio at night in April, I imagine that I would be very chilled and probably hating life BUT this year April has been unseasonably warm, and I love that so many places around town are just rolling with it and getting out their patio things early! Workouts at Rinse Cycle

I’ve been trying to get back to it with workouts lately and Rinse Cycle is still that girl for me. They’re making a lot of changes soon, so keep an eye on their socials for info.

Sparkly Cocktail at Meridien

One evening, we stopped in at Meridien and I tried a seasonal cocktail called Enchanted Garden. I liked it very much but then the bartender came back over and said to shine a light on it. When I did, the whole drink was a swirly, sparkly purple dream!

Designing a Tile at MADE’s Grand Opening

I checked out MADE Studio & Shop’s grand opening of their new building and it’s AMAZING. They have a huge amount of space to do all kinds of classes and they let us get creative by designing tiles that they’ll use on a community art project wall.
