July’s Best Bites – My Favorite Meals at Dayton Restaurants

Well, I predicted I would take it a little easier this month and it looks like I did. Here are the few highlights of a much slower month!

Perfect Evening at Sueño

Sueño is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Dayton – I have never had a bad experience here. The food is amazing, the service is wonderful, and the drinks are fantastic.

This was my first time sitting at the bar and it was great. I always love getting a front row seat to see how the drinks are crafted. I tried the cocktail Blood + Flowers featuring cardamom cachaça, hibiscus, lillet blanc, pomegranate, lime, and tonic. It was perfectly summery!

I had the mushroom tacos and they were great – I’m glad they can hold the cheese to make some of the vegetarian items vegan.

Cocktail at Tender Mercy

In a stop at Tender Mercy one night, I tried a cocktail called Rooted. It’s one of the drinks featured on The Residency cocktail menu by Ryan Stoneberger. Rooted has bourbon barrel gin, zucca, rhubarb liqueur, angostura and rhubarb bitters. It was complex and reminded me of spending time outside in the summer. I don’t know enough about mixology to know how that happened exactly, but it was magic!

Party at Coco’s Bistro

I had a wonderful time celebrating a coworker’s retirement at Coco’s Bistro. We had a private dining room and a limited menu (I appreciate that they let me order from the bigger menu because there wasn’t a vegan option on the short menu). The service was great – Coco’s has always been a fantastic place for a crowd!
