I hope you’re hungry because it was such a delicious month full of great meals and fun treats all over Dayton. Take a look.
Bistecca
This meal at Bistecca was one of my favorites this month – it just ticked all the boxes. The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, and the drinks had their own special glow.

We had the fett’unta olio e prezzemolo (table bread) to start.

I had a rhubarb Negroni that looked as good as it tasted.

My boyfriend ordered the gnocchi.

I tried the risotto and it was amazing!
Wine at Felicity

So many of my nights out end at Felicity for a glass of wine and some time on the patio, enjoying the evening breeze.

Dinner at Ugly Duckling

One night when we were downtown, we were figuring out where to go for dinner and Ugly Duckling popped into my head. I remembered that they have veggie burgers, and that sounded absolutely perfect.

It was AMAZING. I always thought I would be getting breakfast from there exclusively but don’t sleep on their dinner options.

My boyfriend got the chicken wrap made vegetarian and loved it so much. I’m so glad we ventured from the breakfast options and gave these a try.
Paloma at Toxic Brew Company

I love stopping in at Toxic for a paloma. It’s citrusy and refreshing – perfect for summer walks down Fifth Street.

CULTURE
My grandma, mom, sister, boyfriend, and I went to CULTURE before seeing a movie at The Neon and it was phenomenal as always. I got the vegan shrimp po boy and I ate every single bite. I can’t say enough about how great this sandwich was.

Everyone’s plate looked fantastic. Plus, we got in and out of there so efficiently we didn’t miss a minute of the movie, even though it was a tight timeline. CULTURE is always the right choice.
Lunch at Salt Block Biscuit Company
One day, my sister and I tried Salt Block Biscuit Co. for lunch and it was the cutest. It reminds me of the quaint tea rooms that used to be more common in smaller historic towns.

My sister got the chicken salad on a regular biscuit.

I had to get a little creative with sides – there aren’t clear cut vegan items on the menu. They helped me land on roasted zucchini and the potatoes both made vegan. It was perfect for a light lunch, especially with their delicious peach iced tea.
