It’s been one full year of having my blog back and I couldn’t be happier. Let’s look back on the best articles and experiences from Girl About Dayton this year.

January

On Par Karaoke Room Dayton Ohio

I wrote my most popular article to date: Where to do Karaoke in Dayton. I’m glad to know there are so many karaoke fans in Dayton, like me!

February

Mansion on Monument room Dayton, Ohio

I booked a stay at Mansion on Monument and wrote about it here. What a gorgeous place!

March

Luna Gifts & Botanicals front door in Dayton, Ohio stating women owned

When Destination Dayton reached out to have me create these amazing articles about women-owned businesses and women-owned restaurants in Dayton, I was beyond thrilled. I’m so glad so many people have found these helpful!

April

Me looking at the eclipse in 2024

Even though it was such a big deal at the time, I sometimes forget the total eclipse was this year!

May

Me leading a shopping tour in the Oregon District, Dayton, Ohio

I had the opportunity to lead two shopping tours with the Downtown Dayton Partnership as a part of their Downtown Dayton Housing Tour. We shopped til we dropped and it was a very fun time all around. Here are the articles I wrote about the two tours: Fire Blocks & St. Clair | Oregon District

June

Wine bottles arranged by color to follow a rainbow pattern at Joui in Dayton

This was a busy month with trips to Detroit and Tennessee, but I had time to write another of my most popular articles: Where to Find Great Wine in Dayton.

July

Me cutting lavender at Cedar Ridge Trails

I picked lavender at Cedar Ridge Trails and it was such a great way to celebrate summer.

August

Me holding my pizza at Wheat Penny, Dayton, Ohio

I made my own pizzas at Wheat Penny and it was a dream come true!

September

Dayton Philharmonic

Partnering with the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance helped me learn so much more about this ground-breaking organization and how lucky we are in Dayton to have it!

October

Woodland Cemetery with lantern

I revisited the Woodland Cemetery for their lantern tour and had a very fun, very spooky time.

November

Sound bath at Acorn & Owl in Yellow Springs, Ohio

This month started about as bad as a month can so it was a great month to focus on self care. I tried a sound bath and a scalp detox for the first time and it won’t be the last.

December

Clinking wine glasses at Joui in Dayton, Ohio

My birth month is December and I had a great time celebrating with my friends and family. My favorite article is definitely this great interview I had with Joui Wine owner Lauren Gay.

One Year Since Relaunch

I relaunched my blog officially one year ago today, December 22, 2023! It was so much fun to get all the pieces together and I am thrilled to be sharing the best of all things Dayton with my readers again!

What a year it’s been, Dayton. Thank you so much for following along! It’s a rough road ahead in so many ways, but I plan to keep focusing on the people and places working to keep Dayton the weird and wonderful town it is.
