What does an eclipse taste like? Three Dayton restaurants are working that out for us with eclipse-themed drinks and meals to celebrate the 2024 total eclipse.

Winds Café

Apocalypto drink at Winds Cafe in Yellow Springs, Ohio

Their eclipse-themed dinner may be sold out, but you might be able to sip Winds Café’s Apocalypto cocktail this week. This purple drink gets its hue from Empress gin and also features Campari, creme de violet, blue spirulina, lemon juice, simple, and a sugar lemon rim.

Ghostlight Coffee

Ghostlight ghosttart Dayton Ohio

Ghostlight is going all in on eclipse flavors with special lattes featuring black mocha, plus plenty of eclipse-themed treats. Here are the lattes:

  • The Dark Forest (cherry, coconut, black cocoa mocha latte)
  • The Black Path (blackout stout latte)
  • Otherworldly Shade (black cocoa and matcha latte)

The Foundry

The Foundry eclipse in Dayton, Ohio

Opening early at 2:30, The Foundry is serving up solar-inspired specials that pair with Seven Moons Wine until 6 p.m. Monday. Seeing the eclipse from a rooftop bar will be a unique experience, so you’ll want to make reservations in advance.

Manna

Eclipse cocktail at Manna in Centerville, Ohio

Manna will be serving specials Monday, including a gorgeous featured cocktail called A Total Eclipse of the Heart, which is made with tequila, strawberry, vanilla, lime, purple corn, and poached pear and garnished with mint and golden cinnamon glitter.

Did you know this will be the first total solar eclipse in Ohio since 1806? We won’t see another one in Ohio until 2099. Make sure to savor this one while it lasts!
