This is one sneak peek you won’t want to take your eyes off of. SHAG Studios hosted an open house to showcase their progress in perfecting their exciting new space.
SHAG Studios features one floor of studios, salon chairs for rent, and a gorgeous waiting room and a lower floor that will be studios for rent to artists, makers, and sellers. Tattoo artists, skincare specialists, massage therapists, hair stylists, and more can lease beautifully appointed studio spaces on the main floor.
“When I moved back to Dayton and started looking for a salon to work out of, I really didn’t like what I was seeing,” explains SHAG Studios owner, Casey Nickole. “Drop ceilings and bad furniture sucks.”
Casey grew up in the Dayton area and moved to Seattle for 15 years. While in Seattle, she opened BANG, a hair salon with multiple locations. Like many others, Casey decided to move back home during the pandemic and renovated a home in the Oregon District in elaborate, fantastic style. She also opened SHAG, a salon in downtown Dayton.
“I’m an over-designer and maximalist,” explains Casey. And that may be an understatement. Each room of SHAG Studios features a completely different color palette and design, all reminiscent of what it would be like to dream in mid-century modern. Murals on the ceiling, opulence everywhere your eyes land, and framed photos of creatives from the past, SHAG Studios inspires you to be a little bolder when you step out than when you walked in.
Fun, creative, loud, and strange – SHAG Studios is a destination you will want to make for your personal care needs but also just for the experience. Keep an eye on their Instagram for updates.
