When Crafted & Cured left the Dietz Block in Downtown Dayton, I was pretty bummed. But after visiting their gorgeous and expansive space in a renovated, 1929 historic bank, I can see the architectural advantages. Here’s my experience visiting Crafted & Cured in Troy, Ohio.

The Place

Even just walking up to the front door, there’s a lot to take in with an intricately carved stone archway. And inside, Crafted & Cured have made good use of the two floors (as well as a lower level bank vault area).

On the first floor, you’ll find the first bar featuring many craft beer taps. Just like in the original location, the key is referring to their book describing each beer and its corresponding draft number. Behind the bar is the same Crafted & Cured sign from the bar in Dayton.

Across from the beer bar is the charcuterie bar where you can order cheeses, meats, and more. Between the two bars is plenty of seating and a lower section that once housed the vault but now offers additional seating.

Upstairs, you’ll find even more seating as well as the third bar – a cocktail bar with a waterfall feature and statues. You can sip a cocktail and enjoy the view of the first floor.

The Drinks

I tried a cocktail called Cranberry Crisp, which included gin, a cranberry vanilla shrub, cranberry bitters, orange bitters, Madagascar vanilla syrup, and Prosecco. It was amazing and served in a beautiful crystal glass.

The Experience

At first, we sat downstairs right near the first bar and I would catch myself looking at it and it reminded me so much of my many visits to the original Dayton location. It really took me back!

After a bit, we moved to the upstairs area and it was neat to get a different view of the space – the upper floor has VERY high ceilings.

It was such a great evening – I was surprised how much it felt like getting a chance to revisit an old friend from my 20s.
