One of the most stunningly beautiful sights in September is the sunflower field in Yellow Springs. The dates are hard to predict because the growing season is impacting by so many factors, but when you keep an eye out, you can enjoy seeing thousands of gorgeous sunflowers a short drive from Dayton.

Where is the sunflower field?

The address is 4625 US 68, Yellow Springs, Ohio. The sunflower field in Yellow Springs was at one time being managed by Tecumseh Land Trust, however that doesn’t appear to be the case any longer. Google Maps still recognizes that name, however.

The name of the land the field is on is Whitehall Farm, which has a history dating back to the early 1800s. For information about the farm, read more here.

How much does it cost to visit the sunflower field?

It’s free! But you can make a donation to Tecumseh Land Trust to help in their efforts to protect farmland, water, and natural areas forever.

What else is there to know before you go?

In previous years, rules like these were posted:

  • They have a designated parking area, no one is allowed to park along the street (there are signs to help you find it)
  • You can’t pick the sunflowers
  • There may be rules around commercial photography, so it’s a good idea to ask around ahead of time

When can you see the sunflowers?

Sometime in September. Several years they’ve bloomed toward the middle to end of the month.

I follow @YellowSpringsOH to keep an eye out for them!
