The Article

My debut article in Edible Ohio Valley is all about Smales Pretzel Bakery and their 100 year history in Dayton.

I had the chance to interview Emma Smales at her Dayton Arcade location and it was a fantastic conversation. I had been a fan since moving down the street from the main Smales bakery in 2011, but I had a lot to learn about this incredible, longstanding business.

The Publication

Edible Ohio Valley is a quarterly magazine that covers all things food from small agriculture to ingredients to restaurants and everything in between.
