The word “bite” in October makes me think Dracula vs. a meal at a restaurant, but I’m going with it anyways. Here are my favorite meals and more from dining out in Dayton this October 2024.
Cauliflower Steak at Wheat Penny
When I want to celebrate a special occasion, the first dish on my mind is this cauliflower steak from Wheat Penny. I always get the Yukon potatoes with it and another veggie for my second side.
Before the main course, we had bruschetta with one side without cheese and one side with cheese. I love that they can accommodate me always wanting everything vegan at Wheat Penny!
I also had a very unique cocktail called Velvet Mood featuring beet juice. I drink beet juice for health reasons and never thought to add gin. It was definitely a new experience for me and had a very earthy taste.
Bang Bang Tacos at CULTURE
The vegan Bang Bang Tacos from CULTURE are so amazing, so messy, and so filling. I had these before seeing a movie at The Neon and I can’t imagine a better evening spent in the Oregon District than that.
My boyfriend got the Trippin on Shrooms sandwich and I mean… it’s just so pretty.
Quackadilla at Ugly Duckling
It’s not often that I make it out and about for breakfast, so I was very excited to be able to try the vegan Quackadilla at Ugly Duckling this month. It was everything I’ve ever wanted in a breakfast quesadilla and I could have cried – it was seriously that good.
I ended up having a section leftover and it heated up great later that day for a snack.
Brunch Tacos at Vegan It Iz Eats
This is apparently the month for delicious vegan breakfast/brunch! I stopped in at the 2nd Street Market one day after spin class and tried these amazing tacos from Vegan It Iz Eats. They were delicious and the walnut “meat” was the best choice ever. I also had a hibiscus tea from Caffeine Carl, and that was a perfect addition to my lunch.
