I am Team Summer all the way, but fall has its moments. Soup, squash, pretty leaves, and pumpkin spice are all things that help make this season an easier transition than winter. I made a list to make sure I enjoy it! Here’s my Dayton Fall Bucket List.
See the sunflowers
It’s impossible to feel sad when you’re looking at a whole field of cheerful sunflowers. Here’s where you might find them:
Holes Creek (in the past they’ve had a sunflower field, I’ll need to drive by!)
Morris Reserve (again, they have in the past)
Possum Creek MetroPark (they have in the past as well)
Stroll the Stoddard Avenue Pumpkin Glow
There’s nothing that gets me excited for fall quite like the Stoddard Avenue Pumpkin Glow. It’s just an amazing part of fall in Dayton and I can’t wait to walk around wondering how all of these volunteers carve such amazing masterpieces out of pumpkins. Volunteer Here.
Spend time with the changing leaves
Leave-ing this one pretty open ended because I could see doing a number of activities like a guided walk or just going to the MetroParks and hitting the trails. Here are some great places to check out:
History, Mystery, Murder, and Mayhem Tour at Woodland Cemetery (I wrote this article probably almost 10 years ago!)
Drink a pumpkin spice latte
Like most 30-something suburban women, I enjoy a PSL when the weather turns a little chillier. Here’s where I’m headed:
Ghostlight Coffee (Lumberjack and/or Pumpkin Coconut lattes count)
Pettibone Coffee (Harvest lattes count)
