Have an Elegant Dining Experience at Coco’s in Dayton

You may know Coco’s as the place your coworkers run to at lunch for gourmet grilled cheese and tomato soup, but this gorgeous restaurant has even more to offer.

The Place

I can remember the Coco’s Bistro of yesterday, with leopard-print carpet and moody purple walls. At some point this restaurant quietly overhauled their look and feel, opting for a light, airy style that lets the food, drinks, and guests stand out like never before.

The effect is a dreamy, upscale escape where you can focus on connection and flavor while everything else just sort of floats away.

The Food

The menu is full of both approachable fare and finer things, plus a few veg-friendly items. It rotates with the seasons and features plenty of locally sourced ingredients.

We started with the carrots as an appetizer topped with cilantro-jalepeño pesto and pumpkin seeds.

I tried the chili garlic noodles and they were spicy, flavorful, and filling. I loved everything about it.

My boyfriend ordered the risotto, which had roasted corn and grape tomato confit. It was creamy and perfect.

The Drinks

I love reading the Coco’s drink menu because the names of the cocktails are all so creative and fun.

I had to honor Slayer and order the Reign in Blood, which combined Belle of Dayton gin, prosecco, blood orange, and rosemary into a surprisingly light and refreshing summer sipper.

My boyfriend is always jazzed when he can get a Narragansett and Coco’s gets it.

Coco’s also has a great wine menu that rotates to keep things new and fresh. (I maybe mostly wanted to show off my on-brand mani by Nova Noir.)

The Details

You can make reservations or just stop in, they weren’t fussy about us not having rezzies.

There are two sides to Coco’s—the regular dining side and a lounge side. I’ll have to try that one next!

Their patio is popular and now features a brand new mural.

They offer two good-sized party room that can be reserved for all kinds of events.

This is one of the restaurants open Mondays in downtown Dayton. They’re closed Sundays.
