Get Customized Holistic Skincare with Aesthetics by Tara

I had the chance to try a custom facial with Jamie of Aesthetics by Tara. It was relaxing, transformative, and effective and I can’t wait to go back!

The Facial

Before the appointment, I filled out a questionnaire with details about my skin and products that I use at home. I have sensitive skin and have found that I need to stay away from dairy-based products. Jamie checked over the products she would be using beforehand to make sure there wouldn’t be an issue, which I really appreciated.

Aesthetics by Tara has several signature parts of the service, including starting with a double cleanse – one with oil and the other with a cleanser. Afterward came dermaplaning with hyaluronic acid to help avoid any reaction.

The first mask was to help replenish hydration and while it was doing its thing, she applied a cooling jade eye mask that was really relaxing, plus a shoulder massage that might have helped me fall a little bit asleep honestly.

At Aesthetics by Tara, they do a facial massage that targets facial muscles and encourages lymphatic drainage. My favorite part was the sheet mask with ice globes – it was cooling and soothing.

The Experience

It really felt the whole time that my skin was being supported and not pushed to perform “normally.” I don’t know why I’m so sensitive – honestly, when I was a teenager, I used Proactiv which was basically battery acid? Why is there an issue now? I appreciated that this was not a one-size-fits-all sort of experience, because those don’t always work for me.

I also loved that even though this was serious skincare with real results, it wasn’t clinical, it was still relaxing.

The Results

My skin was glowing and has been better all week. Putting on makeup has been a breeze because my skin is so much smoother. I didn’t have any reaction at all, and some of my fine lines were even smoothed a bit, which wasn’t a concern I even brought up for this appointment.

They book services in spaces within Bare Beauty Bar, a gorgeous booth-rental spa in Beavercreek, Ohio. You wouldn’t know that it wasn’t all one company, it’s set up to be like any other luxury spa.

Booking is easy on the website. I had a facial with Jamie, but they do all kinds of other aesthetic services. They even offer virtual services.
