If you’re looking for the kind of skincare that will give major results without injections, fillers, etc., look no further than La De Da Le Salon in Oakwood.
The Experience
I recently had a chance to enjoy a facial at La De Da Le Salon in exchange for my honest review. I’ve often seen the name La De Da on my way to and from Central Perc or driving down Far Hills Avenue, and although I’ve always been curious, I hadn’t stopped in until last week. Walking inside, the salon is stocked with luxurious, high-end products from Paris (Biologique Recherche), Switzerland (Valmont), as well as makeup by Jane Iredale, and so much more. They clearly take their product selection seriously and it shows.
For the services requiring the more intensive equipment, your esthetician leads you to the second floor. These rooms are outfitted with equipment to perform Ionixlight Facials with LED lights, oxygen, and more, as well as the electronic resculpting, which is a part of La De Da Le Salon’s most popular facial, the Biologique Recherche Remodeling & Sculpting Facial.
I have enjoyed facials for a long time, but I’ve always wondered if there was a “next step” facial – one that would deliver lasting results but still not all the way over to the med spa side. La De Da Le Salon falls right in between a relaxing spa facial and a medical treatment. You get the benefits of the more intensive treatment without the downtime you might expect at a med spa.
The electric currents are meant to improve muscle memory to help smooth wrinkles. I was nervous about that part but it was painless and absolutely wild – you taste metal and can definitely feel the current working on your skin!
The Ionixlight technology was out of this world – it really felt like something right out of a space ship! It’s really neat having these cutting-edge services right down the road rather than having to drive to bigger cities to try them.
They use a unique facial massage called the Jaquet Technique, which is meant to lift and exfoliate the skin – this is where the “French Glow” comes in.
First-timers should try the Skin Instant Lab to get an in-depth analysis of their unique skincare needs. They can create a hyper-customized facial based on the results and recommend products to use at home.
The History
La De Da founder Christine Davidson received extensive training and accreditation in Paris at Biologique Recherche Ambassade de la Beaute in 1999 and continues this training in annual visits to Paris. She worked for years alongside her mentor at a spa in Centerville until he unfortunately passed away. When deciding where to open her own space, the perfect location in Oakwood came about, making it easy for her to stay close to home while branching out.
La De Da Le Salon got its lighthearted name and a perfect location along Far Hills Avenue in 2005. “I wanted something with a fun French flare, and I thought La De Da Le Salon created that vibe,” explains Davidson.
Davidson explains that she created La De Da Le Salon to provide a more holistic approach to skincare. “We focus on improving the overall health and quality of your skin,” she explains.
Because La De Da Le Salon has trained so extensively on only a couple luxury product lines, they have 20+ years of experience using these products to help anyone looking to improve their skin without more invasive methods.
The Services
“Investing in quality skincare can help you age gracefully by minimizing fine lines and wrinkles and lightening pigmentation,” explains Davidson. “Actually, by preventing skin issues early, you reduce the need for costly dermatological treatments or cosmetic procedures later on.”
La De Da Le Salon has two Biologique Recherche-trained aestheticians, Christine Davidson and Vanessa Templeton, who offer facials for all kinds of skin concerns, even acne, as well as body treatments, targeted masks, and even add-on collagen and eye treatments. They also offer makeup application, waxing, and tinting. Nail technician, Jessie Haynes offers nail services at La De Da using Zoya products. Ask about Zoya’s popular naked manicure next time you book.

The Results
I have more severely sensitive skin than I realized and after this mega facial, my skin really didn’t know what to do and I experienced some irritation, redness, and even swelling. Christine was a dream to work with and checked in regularly to make sure I was doing what I needed to do to take care of it, offering tips and solutions for me along the way. Learn from me and definitely disclose any sensitivity ahead of your service. After a few short days, I’m right as rain and marveling at the fact that the lines around my eyes are just…gone. I didn’t really know that was possible – I always thought you could reduce the appearance of lines, but I didn’t know there were things you could do (outside of Botox) that could actually eliminate them for weeks at at time. My forehead wrinkles are dialed back to what they looked like in my 20s!
I am all for aging gracefully and La De Da Le Salon seems to be the way to get there with the option to gently pump the brakes a little along the way.
