Find a Great Read at Rabbit Hole Books in Dayton

If you’re looking for a great book, this unique local book store, Rabbit Hole Books in Dayton might be the perfect place. As a part of Dayton Book Fair, they offer their gently used books at $1 each. (They also need a new warehouse space, if you happen to know of one for sale in Dayton around 15-20,000 sq. ft.)

The Place

Located in a little less congested part of downtown, Rabbit Hole Books has a sweet little storefront on West First Street.

There’s plenty of street parking all around as well as several paid surface lots and a parking garage next to it and on the corner.

The Books

The shop is full of books: one side for adults and other other side has plenty of kids books. Throughout the entire space, they also sell cards, gift items, pins, bookmarks, toys, and more. Make sure you walk around and look at everything so you don’t miss a great find.

The books are supplied by Dayton Book Fair, an organization that takes in literal tons of donated books each year, sorts them into 80 categories, and hosts the third largest used book sale in the country. The proceeds of the sale, online sales, and Rabbit Hole Books are donated to Dayton nonprofits. Want to donate books? They also take DVDs, records, and more.

The Gifts

I love their gifts and cards. Plus, they have a little Dayton section with bracelets, tumblers, cards, and little Dayton pennant flags.

They have tons of pins for sale in case you need a few new pieces of flare.

The Need

As it happens, it takes a tremendous amount of space to receive, sort, and store the several tons of books Dayton Book Fair receives in donations each year. So much so that they were running out of warehouse space even before finding out the landlord was selling and they had to move their operations elsewhere.
