Aviation isn’t the only mode of transportation that Dayton’s known for. At one point, we had automobile manufacturing in Dayton as well. Here are some interesting places to visit to experience Dayton’s automotive history.

America’s Packard Museum

You’ve likely driven past the Packard Museum at one time or another – it features a neon Packard sign on the side of the building. Make plans to stop in sometime and you won’t regret it. This museum was at one time a Packard showroom and repair shop, so it’s very much like stepping back in time.

British Transportation Museum

This museum isn’t as easy to spot, but it’s very interesting to visit. The collection at the British Transportation Museum spans decades of automotive history and helps visitors discover cars that many of us have never seen on the roads in the U.S.

Dayton History’s Concours d’Elegance

Concours d’Elegance is an annual event benefiting Dayton History. Car enthusiasts from across the country display their historic automobiles and visitors can enjoy viewing classic cars from a variety of decades.
