From time to time, I like to try an overnight stay even in a familiar place just to get a little different perspective of places I like to visit. Recently, I booked a stay at a very cute space in the Oregon District.

The Location

House in the Oregon District

It’s actually right off of the exit ramp from 35, which is an area I normally only spend either a few seconds driving by or a minute or two at the red light. It was neat to experience a little corner of town I’ve never really stopped and considered before.

It was very easy to get to, and even easier to walk anywhere in the Oregon District we wanted to go.

The Space

Living room

The apartment itself is the perfect size for two people. The living room had some of the best wallpaper I’ve ever seen – there’s nothing like seeing a wall of tigers yelling at you. The living room also conveniently had a door separating it from the rest of the space, which is perfect if one person wants to sleep and the other wants to watch a movie.

The bathroom had more unique, 70s-inspired wallpaper and everything you need to get freshened up for a night on the town.

The bedroom was simple and had plenty of space to store your bag and hang your jacket. It also connects to the kitchenette/laundry room, which surprisingly had everything you could ever need to cook a meal.

The patio has plush seating for two and it was nice to spend a minute sitting outside with a unique view of Dayton.

Most surprising of all? They have a gorgeous pool! During pool season, you would have to book the pool separately using a different app, but it definitely seems like the perfect way to enjoy a long summer weekend in Dayton.

The Experience

I had a great time walking all over the Oregon District knowing I could just walk back to the apartment at the end of the night. The combination of the amazing look and feel of the place with the fun location made it a really great overnight experience that I would definitely do again someday!
