Ever since I started working from home, weekends (not so very far) away have become such a fun way to get a little break from everyday life. One memorable overnight took me to Mills Park Hotel in Yellow Springs. It’s such a pretty place to stay and it’s close enough to the main part of town to walk everywhere, which I love.
The Hotel
The lobby has corgi-related artwork and a sparkly crystal chandelier that catches the sunlight and sends little rainbows everywhere. There’s a little gift shop and a full restaurant and coffee shop called Ellie’s Restaurant.
The Room
I booked one of the Deluxe King Suites, which includes a whirlpool tub and balcony access. The bathroom was amazing with heated marble floors and French doors. The balcony is shared with the other deluxe king suite and has rocking chairs to relax and take in the evening air.
The Town
So many great places are a short, easy walk down the road from Mills Park Hotel. One of my favorites is Sunrise Cafe. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and have great vegan options. There’s lots of shopping including Toxic Beauty Records, Dark Star Books and Comics, and Kismet, to name just a few. Ye Olde Trail Tavern is a great place to grab a drink between visiting shops.
If you’re feeling up to a longer walk, taking the trail at Glen Helen to see the Yellow Spring is such a great, short nature hike.
This trip in particular felt like a long weekend away and it was just an overnight. There’s just something magic about spending time in Yellow Springs.
