I had a chance to tour Hotel Ardent – including one of their Presidential Suites – and it’s as gorgeous as I imagined!
The Rooms

I toured one of their Presidential Suites, which has a king bed with en suite bathroom, separate living area with a table and chairs, wet bar, and couch.

This suite also has the option to connect to a double queen room, which is great for families traveling together.

Hotel Ardent has 118 guest rooms, all featuring luxe finishes, plush furniture, and unique views of downtown.

The wall color is a vibrant green and the art on the walls depicts various inventions from Dayton.

The Restaurant: Bistecca

The restaurant in Hotel Ardent puts many other hotel restaurants to shame. Bistecca is a Tuscan steakhouse featuring not only steak, but also plenty of pastas, salads, appetizers, sides, and more. They also serve breakfast daily as well as brunch on the weekends.

The bar at Bistecca has a fantastic cocktail menu and a Negroni-making machine that’s a lot of fun to see in action. I had one and it was delicious!

Speaking of Negronis, they have a Negroni hour from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays. Bistecca is the perfect place to grab a drink or dinner before seeing a show in Dayton’s theatre district.
The Hotel

The Barclay building was built in 1925 and in renovating this former office building into a hotel, they did a great job of keeping as much of the historic charm as possible, including the original terrazzo floors throughout and the ornate ceiling in the first floor elevator area.

The hotel itself has a lot of amenities worth mentioning – especially the impressive meeting room, which doubles as the private dining room for Bistecca. The table is massive and could seat an entire small business.

The books in their collection are all from the Dayton Art Institute.
The gym is located on the second floor and has a yoga studio section with a smart TV, plenty of equipment, and even a Peloton (with cages!) so you can get your blue dot even when away from home without needing to pack your spin shoes.
This luxurious hotel maintains all the historic charm of 100 years of Dayton history. I will definitely have to book a fun overnight stay sometime, myself!
