Book a Beautiful Stay at Mansion on Monument

Ever since I took a tour of this breathtaking boutique hotel in April 2023, I have wanted to book my own stay and enjoy it first hand. Recently, I did just that!

The Room

This Dayton boutique hotel has all the comforts of home while you enjoy a few days away. I stayed in the Madison suite, which features two bedrooms and two full bathrooms as well as a full kitchen, laundry room, and lounge and dining areas.

This suite gets such gorgeous natural light through its unique, curved windows. One of the most striking architectural features, the turret with stained glass panels, is located in this suite, and it’s such an unexpected and fun thing to see from the inside.

The beds are very comfortable and the linens are luxurious. Mansion on Monument even offers slippers and robes to make guests feel even more comfortable during their stay.

The primary bath is finished in marble tile, with a large, open shower. Both bathrooms have local soap and lotion from Cedar Ridge Trails. The secondary bath is finished in black tile with a hexagon marble tile floor.

If you would want to do any cooking, you have everything you need: pots, pans, plates, cutlery, utensils, cups, etc. There’s a full-sized fridge to store ingredients and your choice of dining room seating or sitting at the huge kitchen island to eat your meal.

They have wine covered – you can place an order for a bottle or two with The Parlor downstairs and they’ll bring it up to you.

The Parlor

Mansion on Monument has a gift and wine shop on the first floor featuring a curated selection of fine wines as well as jewelry from Wild Roots Creative, floral scented candles from Ciao bel Fiore, and so much more.

The Experience

Booking is a breeze using Airbnb. Their self-check in process couldn’t be easier and there is ample parking at the side of the building for guests. They book 3 days at a minimum, so this is a great place for a weekend getaway or a week-long vacation.

I loved that they offered a sweet welcome basket full of Dayton treats like Esther Price chocolate, Mikesell’s potato chips, and Boston Stoker coffee. It was a quick walk over to 1Eleven Flavor House for dinner and drinks.

The History

The Mansion on Monument opened in 2023, but the history of this building goes back much further. It was built between 1895-1903 as the home of the DeWeese family. DeWeese is a historical name in Dayton – there’s even a neighborhood named after the DeWeese family.

The Ashgard Group transformed this historic landmark into a luxury boutique hotel through a three-year renovation process. They were careful to maintain the beautiful character and unique charm of the mansion while bringing the amenities up to modern standards.
