
It was a great month of spending time with loved ones and enjoying some time off. I had some great food and drink experiences throughout the month – here’s what sticks out as the most memorable.
Birthday Dinner at Wheat Penny

I celebrate my birthday each year with food, drinks, and lots of holiday shopping – usually at Handmade Holiday and Holly Days pretty much back to back. Before checking out Handmade Holiday at Yellow Cab, we went to eat at Wheat Penny where I got my favorite cauliflower steak with Yukon potatoes and broccolini.
We sat on the patio, which is nice and warm and cozy thanks to the heaters they use.
Lunch at Ginger and Spice

One afternoon, I was in the UD area so I stopped in at Ginger and Spice for lunch. I got the tofu with curry and it was amazing. I forgot that once you eat this, you will smell curry all day long – it gets inside your sinuses and stays there. It’s magic and writing about it now is making me hungry.

Espresso Martini at Carvers

My work had our holiday lunch at Carvers and while they didn’t have a lot for me to eat, I still enjoyed a delicious espresso martini afterward that felt decadent and fun. I loved that this was suggested in the dessert options for us.
Dinner at Garden Grill & Bar at Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Dayton

After shopping til we dropped at Holly Days, we decided on Beyond Burgers at the Garden Grill & Bar, which is the restaurant and bar on the second floor of the Hilton Garden Inn at the Arcade.
Cranberry Cocktail at Old Scratch

I never got in the Christmas spirit this year – it just didn’t happen for me – but I still tried to enjoy the flavor of the season like with this cranberry bourbon cocktail special at Old Scratch.
