August Dayton Shopping Finds

August was busy but not as shoppy as previous months. I still managed to gather some amazing items from local shops!

Jasmine Cedar Wood Candle from Desert Roots

Academically/mathematically/cosmically, I know summer is coming to an end. Emotionally, it’s still very much summer to me. That’s why when I noticed my summer candle stock was running a little low, I made sure to grab one more to get me through to fall. Desert Roots makes wonderful soy wax candles featuring a wood wick. The scents are all thoughtful and they have one to fit every home, mood, and season.

Kenya Coffee from Namesake Coffee

I’ve bought Namesake Coffee a few times at Ignite Yoga’s annual holiday craft show but this bag I snagged at Shoppe Smitten. Namesake Coffee is not only gorgeous on your pantry shelf, it’s also always a delicious way to make your morning a little more special.

Sweatband from Barrel House

August couldn’t have ended on a higher note for me. Heedfest is an annual(ish) celebration of all things Guided by Voices/Robert Pollard and this year, things (high) kicked off at Barrel House with an all-Bob, all-vinyl DJ set and lots of craft beer. Since the line was often long, I had a chance to browse the shelves and spotted this awesome rainbow sweatband. It’s a great souvenir from an exciting whirlwind of a weekend.
